It’s been four months since we took a look at the apartment rental scene in the Midtown West area of Manhattan. Midtown West is the generic name for several neighborhoods, all based West of Sixth Avenue, between 40th Street and 56th Street. Some of the names you’ve heard for this area are: Hell’s Kitchen, Clinton, and the Theater District, but in the world of New York apartments, this area  Midtown West.

The number of new high rise luxury buildings going up in the area is staggering. Midtown West is no longer Manhattan’s forgotten neighborhood. The strip of Ninth Avenue from 42nd Street to 52nd Street has become one of the most active restaurant, bar, and entertainment areas in the city.

Four months ago we wrote:

At one time, Midtown West in the low 40?s  was the stomping grounds of prostitutes, tranny hookers, and assorted lowlife hustlers. Naturally, rents were low and it was not a desirable place to live. That has all changed. Apartments in the part of Manhattan have undergone a sea-change in quality and price. Some of NYC’s most exciting new rental buildings are in this part of Manhattan and it is once again a great place to live.

When looking for apartments in New York City, keep Manhattan’s Midtown West at the top of your radar…

Some good deals here. Everyone always talks about having to know someone just to get a good deal on an apartment in NYC, but I see at least 3 right here that match what I am looking for.
