Over the past month, we’ve been looking at apartments for rent in NYC. Last week I looked at studio apartments for rent on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The field wasn’t too encouraging. I found many more studios for rent in the Upper East Side – and at lower prices on the whole. After looking at a few other neighborhoods, I came to the conclusion that when it comes to apartments in Manhattan, The Upper East Side is the place to look. If your budget doesn’t allow for that, then look uptown, in the Inwood neighborhood.

Apartments in NYC, specifically, the Upper West Side. This week, I got a bit of a surprise looking at one bedroom Upper West Side apartments for rent. They aren’t low cost, so don’t go looking for bargains. But there is a reasonable selection of 1 bedroom apartments in the $2,200 to $2,400 price range, which is surprising, since that’s is not much higher than the going studio rent prices. Add that to the advantages of having Zabar’s in the neighborhood, and you’ve got a good reason to look on the Upper West Side.

So let’s take a look at three examples of low priced Upper East Side apartments:

These all look like good places to rent. Thanks for posting these. How can I contact the landlord?
